Frost day

A day when the daily minimum temperature is at, or below, freezing (0 °C; 32 °F) at a particular location (Moonen et al.2002). The last frost day in the spring and the first frost day in the autumn can be used to define the beginning and end of the climatological growing season (Menzel et al. 2003). These two events can be measured using thresholds other than 0°C (32 °F) and have also been used to define the frost period.
