Contingency table

A table that summarises the observed cross-tabulated frequencies of two or more variables, each of which has a limited number of outcomes. Each cell in the contingency table contains a specific count of instances where each variable was observed simultaneously (e.g. individuals with a certain risk factor who experienced a certain outcome). An example is shown in the Table.
